Reading a record

Published or pending
A published record reports completed testing on a sample from one lot and was reviewed and approved before publication. “Documentation pending” means no record is published yet. It is not a failed test, and it is not a pass.
Match the lot
A record describes one lot only. Compare the lot number on the record with the lot you have; other lots need their own record.
What a record shows
What a laboratory measured in a sample from that lot, the methods it used, and when the testing was done.
What a record does not prove
It is not FDA approval, not a safety assessment, and not a statement that a material is suitable for any use outside lawful laboratory research.
