Ipamorelin is a synthetic peptide of five building blocks, Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH₂, first described in the scientific literature in 1998. Three of them, Aib, D-2-Nal and D-Phe, are not among the building blocks of natural proteins, and the chain ends in an amide.
